Happy HEALTHY home

I am glad to report that my family is now healthy again. Piper took a few days to really start eating again, but she is back on track now, well if you can say that her eating habit is an actual track. Piper is a very picky eater and she doesn't eat too much of the stuff she does like anyway. My mother said I was very much the same when I was her age. So we just keep trying to offer her whatever she will eat. Her current favorites (and they are requested often) are pickles, cheese, milk and cheerios. Also we went to JC Penney's today to get Piper's pictures taken for her second birthday. I think they turned out really well, and as soon as I can get them off the Internet I will post some of them up here.

Carpet cleaning

I was lucky enough to get in some carpet cleaning this weekend. However it was not by choice. Both Piper and Jason started throwing up on Sunday morning, Jason into the toilet like most humans, and Piper on the carpet... yeah, a total of three times on the carpet. The first time I almost started crying because I had no idea what to do or how to start cleaning it up, but by the third time I was a pro! Piper was finally able to keep down some food and liquid at dinner time, and Jason stopped throwing up that evening too, both are looking a feeling a bit better today. Hopefully it was just a 24 hour thing, and more hopefully I will be able to steer clear of whatever it was they had. I'm not holding my breath since my toddler had it and she doesn't know the meaning of personal space, but you never know, I could have an immune system that is strong as an ox! :) Wish me luck.

Big Girl Bed

Last Sunday Piper made a big decision... she decided that she was big enough to climb out of her crib, and therefore needed to start using a big girl bed. Jason and I were downstairs during her nap, and about 45 min after we put her down she showed up in the living room, bright eyed and super proud of herself. When we took her back upstairs to put her down, and see if we had left the crib rail down, we saw that the crib rail was up and Piper said "ta-da!". So we are now attempting a transition into her big girl bed. She is doing fairly well at nap times, but we are still struggling with bedtime. Piper is such a busy little girl, she doesn't shut off until she falls asleep, which is causing problems with her getting out of bed a lot, which is not making her interested in going to sleep. It's going to be a process, but I am sure it will work out in the end. Yesterday we went to Target to pick out some new sheets and a comforter for her bed. Piper seems very excited about it, even though she may or may not have much of a preference for what is actually on the new bedding! (I personally think she would have picked anything we put in front of her, she was just so excited about getting a blanket.) So wish me luck as I keep fighting the good fight! :)

Here are some more 'birthday' pictures of Piper and some of her other presents from the family.

Happy Birthday Piper

Today is my little girl's 2nd birthday! We have officially entered the terrible-twos! :) And Piper definitely has her moments, but really she is such a good little girl, BUSY but good! :) We had an early birthday party at my dad's house two weekends ago. Piper had a great time with my family, she was especially excited about the "Dressy Bessy" doll that my sister bought her, she opened it and literally squealed like I have never heard before. Today we had quite a busy day. This morning we went to the Zoo with Claudia and Becca. The girls got to ride around in Piper's plastic red wagon, which they both LOVED! They got to see the sea lions, polar bears, hippos, giraffes, zebras and the elephants including the baby elephant. And they got to pet the pygmy goats, which made Piper's day... especially when the goat kept wagging its tail at her.

Then after her nap I took her to Build-A-Bear and she picked out a panda to build. She was VERY excited to have the panda, and when we got home she wouldn't put it down. Then she decided that the panda needed to go potty, and so the panda sat on the potty for most of the evening. After that Piper came outside with me to do some gardening, she has her own little tools to help me, very cute. Then we had dinner and she opened her presents. This year she got a slide, some cars, some dinosaurs, a bubble machine, and an alphabet puzzle. She was very excited about most of her toys! It was a very fun day and I enjoyed spending it with her. We were so blessed two years ago to have this little life come into our world, and we are so thankful that she has grown into such a beautiful little girl. We love you Piper!!

Here are some videos I took recently...
