These diapers were made for walking!
Piper has reached that very exciting time in her life where WALKING has been added to her bag of tricks. She took her first few little half steps on my birthday! (a very cool birthday present, if I do say so) We did not think that this would happen quite so fast! She has only been standing on her own for about two weeks...
I had been trying to get a good picture of it to post, but she was being stubborn. I finally got this picture after trying for like three days to get her to stay standing while I got the camera ready. So anyway, we thought she would walk pretty soon, but probably not before her birthday. Obviously I was WAY wrong! Little Pip took those first steps and has been practicing ever since. She is still very hesitant, but she is getting more and more comfortable with this new trick. She still uses crawling as her main (and very fast) mode of transportation. So now, without further delay I give you "Walking Baby", a Stacy & Jason Crain production, starring Piper Crain. :)

26 years old
Yes, today is my birthday and I am 26 years old. Nothing really exciting to look forward to with birthdays anymore, but that doesn't make them any less special. I had a wonderful day with my family, and best of all I didn't have to work! Looking back on my 26 years I have a lot to be thankful for. Mostly I am thankful for my family, both Jason and Piper, and the rest of my extended family. I have 4 wonderful parents (that is including Holly and Ed), 3 great siblings, 4 loving grandparents, and a whole family of in-laws. But I am also so grateful to have my close friends, without them my life would not be as full! And I want to send a special thank you to Becca who wrote some very sweet words for me on this special day. I am so lucky to have such solid friendships that have held strong all these years. I know that I will never lose those in my life, and that fills my heart with joy! But enough sappiness, I am getting soft in my old age! :) I thought it only fair that since I posted some baby pictures of Jason, I should subject myself to the same. So here are some pictures of little baby Stacy and some of Piper as well... I think that she looks more like me than I thought she did.

So Happy Birthday to me... another trip around the sun, and another year of great memories to cherish.

Babies 'R' Us
So I have been kind of a slacker and have been lazy with getting new pictures on my computer. But last Monday we had a little baby party here at the Crain household. My house was full of the usual suspects! We had Kasey & Isaiah, Becca & Claudia, and Kristy & Kaitlyn. (Click links for previous blogs about these babies!) All the babies, and moms, had a good time; there were lots of giggles and smiles. We think that Isaiah likes playing with girls more than boys because girls are much gentler! :) I don't think any of the babies cried until they had to leave. Piper was fascinated with the company, and I love that she gets the interaction with other children. And of course I love to see my friends! We also got some pretty good pictures of the kids, which was amazing. Who knew that you could get four babies, ranging from 17 to 5 months of age sit still for more that 5 seconds? So I thought since we got them, I should share them. Hope you enjoy!

Cranky Baby
So for at least the past two weeks Jason and I have been dealing with a very easily irritated baby. For a little while we weren't sure what her deal was, but Piper would very quickly get fussy and start crying. And I mean she would cry over every little thing, especially if you told her NO for anything! :) Then finally one day I found the culprit...

TWO NEW TEETH! And the funny thing (if you can really call it funny) is that only the right two teeth have come in, so we still have two on the left to come through. And of course that brings me mixed feelings. I want the teeth to come in so that her mouth will be symmetrical, and yet I don't want the crabby-ness that comes with teething to stick around any longer!! She can become a real crank monster when she is teething! :) But I guess it all comes with the territory... and all her little phases are exciting to watch. She is starting to try standing on her own, but I have been unsuccessful to catch it on film (or digitally I guess, since I never use an old school camera anymore). It is all very fun and exciting; I can't believe that she is almost going to be a year old!! They grow up so fast! (please excuse the cliché)
