O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

So I want to start out by telling everyone that our family is OK! I know some of you might be worried since I haven't really posted much in the last month. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving up at my father's house. All my siblings were there, my uncle Jeff and his family came, and so did Jason's parents. But unfortunately (as you can probably tell from the title of this blog) I am not posting pictures from that day. This is because even though I promised my grandmother (sorry Grandma J!) that I would take pictures at Thanksgiving, I didn't take any. I mostly blame my dad (kidding) because he was taking lots of pictures! :) But I have not come to you empty handed, and again I refer to the title of this blog. I come bearing pictures of our Christmas tree! :) We went out on Friday and picked out a tree at a local stand. We then came home and decorated the tree with Piper helping! She seemed to have a lot of fun and loved the lights, both the ones on the tree and on the house. When Jason put the lights up on the house I took Piper outside to look at them and her reaction to the lights was "whoa" in a very low tone with WIDE eyes! :) It was really adorable. I am so looking forward to Christmas this year!!

We tried to get Piper to hold this little tree up, but she wasn't really feeling it!

SOOOO CUTE!!!

Practising her smile :) And you can sort of see our tree in the background... I haven't gotten around to taking a picture of it yet. I know I know... I am a total photo slacker!! I'm trying to fix that!

In Memory of Eric Delf

Jason and I recently had a friend who was killed in a motorcycle accident. Eric Delf was Jason's assistant coach for the Hood View soccer team, he was a husband and father of two (one of which was on the soccer team), and he was a friend of ours. Even though we hadn't known Eric that long he still treated us as though he had known us for years. Eric passed away Monday Nov 24th, he was 39 year old, and his memorial service was held today. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be safe and smart this holiday season. It is difficult enough to lose a loved one, and to lose someone during the holidays only makes the loss harder. My heart and prayers go out to Eric's family. There is nothing that I can say to make it easier, but I know that Eric loved the Lord and I for one am excited to see him again one day. Eric we will miss you.
