In Loving Memory

Two years ago today my mother-in-law, Pearl Crain, lost her battle to leukemia. The lost was especially devastating since Jason and I had just recently learned about our pregnancy with Piper and Pearl was SO excited. Last year, to commemorate our loss, some of Pearl's family and close friends went out to the coast and spread her ashes in the ocean as per her request. We took a boat out of Tillamook Bay and began the ceremony near the Tillamook Buoy. This year Jason, Piper and I went out to the coast again and stayed at my grandparent's house in Rockaway Beach. Jason's father and his sister's family came down and stayed Saturday night with us. It was a relaxing weekend of remembrance and time shared with family. We love you Pearl, and we miss you so. You would be so proud of your granddaughter, she is so beautiful and reminds me of you at times. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories that I will be able to share with her as she grows up. Please watch over her and protect her and help me to be a good mother. I love you.

Another Trip Around the Sun

Today is my 4th anniversary, and I couldn't be happier with the spouse I have chosen. I once found a great quote by Booth Tarkington who said, "An ideal wife is any woman who has an ideal husband." I found my ideal husband almost 7 years ago when I moved in nextdoor to him at Oregon State University. Jason has been my best friend and a wonderful partner ever since I met him. I truely feel that I have the most wonderful husband on Earth. To loosely quote my best friend's mother "the key to a successful marriage is to marry Jason Crain, how can you not be happy when you are married to such a wonderful man". She of course spoke of her own husband, but you get the idea. Jason I love you so much more today than the day I married you, and I want to thank you for a wonderful 4 years... and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us both!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Sparks

One of my best friends got married this weekend and I couldn't be happier for her.

Congratulations Erica and Ryan, your wedding was absolutely beautiful! :) I love you both and am so glad that I was able to be a part of your very special day. I hope that Jason and I can be there for you two throughout your marriage. Congratulations again, and GOOD LUCK! :)

Happy Birthday America!

So I know that it has been quite a while since I have posted anything on here. I think the month of June just didn't exist for me this year. It is crazy how time can get away from you. The family is doing very well. Piper is running around everywhere, keeping me busy as ever. This year for the 4th of July we drove down to Rockaway Beach and spent the holiday with my family. We had quite the full house, two full houses actually! We all had a great time, and Piper seemed to really enjoy the parade and fireworks that the town of Rockaway Beach has. During the fireworks Piper kept saying "WOW"! It was very cute! She is getting so big, and her hair is getting VERY long and curly. Here is a picture that my grandparents took... (Coming soon... I have been so busy lately I think I have forgotten how to use a camera) Hope that this year's independence day was good to you! Happy 4th of July!
