Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Crain

No I am not talking about myself! :) Yesterday was my father-in-law's wedding. Jason's father Ken was married to a wonderful woman, Susie, at the Pleasant Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Damascus (I think, or Gresham, or Clackamas... not really sure). The ceremony was very beautiful, as was Susie. For those of you who are counting this is my third wedding that I was involved in this summer (if you can count October as the summer), but I was not actually in this wedding, just Jason and Piper were. Piper got her second try as a flower girl... and still not quite there, but she did great! As she started down the aisle she dumped out her basket of flower petals! :) Then she proceeded to half run down the aisle to daddy, but she got a little hung up on the stairs up to the alter, she stepped on her dress and couldn't stand up, all the while with her little booty pointing directly at the audience... here is a picture, she is going to LOVE it when she grows up! :) It was a very special day and we are very happy to welcome Susie to the family. The great thing about Susie is that not only will she be an amazing grandmother to my children, but she was also close friends with Pearl and she will be able to teach my kids about their grandma Pearl too. So welcome to the family Susie, we couldn't be happier to have you, just hope you can handle us all! :)

OMSI

On Wednesday Piper and I went out to OMSI with Claudia and Becca. They had a great time together exploring the toddler area they have there. I had no idea they had such a great little area for young kids to play in... the science playground is for children 6 and under, and it is filled with all kinds of things for the kids to play with. The big hit with the girls was the water area. They had a little running water table with lots of toys and gadgets to play with. Piper decided it was extremely fun to pour water down the front of her apron, getting her pants soaking wet! :) The girls also enjoyed playing in the ball pit, the wolf cave, and they both flipped over playing with the little computer they have there for the kids. They didn't really know what they were doing with the computer but they just loved pushing the buttons! Here are some pictures of the day...
From 2008

Descriptions (Top Left to Bottom Right):
Piper dressed as a chipmunk; playing in the chipmunk nest; playing nice with Claudia; loved the steering wheel; trying to look through a toy you can't look through; saw me taking a picture of her; looking at fish; playing with food; liked the cash register and it's noises; dumping food out of the grocery basket; playing with Claudia in the ball pit; dove into the pit head first; playing with some toys in the water; getting wet and loving it; pouring water down her apron; playing in the eagle nest (notice the wet pants!)

Congrats Mr & Mrs Jensen

May I first point out that this is two months overdue! My sister, Tacie, and her husband, Brett, were married on August 2, 2008... but since I am kind of a slacker - I took NO pictures on my own camera at the wedding and then I took forever to ask for copies of pictures from Tacie - it took me two months to actually get anything to post from the wedding. They got married up at the Bonneville Dam and the whole thing was beautiful! My sister of course being the most beautiful thing in the whole wedding! :) And I have to give my parents (particularly my step-mom) a whole lot of credit... they turned an ordinary gym into a beautiful reception hall, all in one day. Our family and Brett's family did a whole lot to help out with the installation of all these decorations. Everyone worked hard, even Jason helped out a little on the day of the wedding, and the poor guy had been in surgery the day before for carpel tunnel. I wanted to post my toast that I gave at the reception, not only because I worked hard on it, but because I truly meant it and love the quote that I found for it. So here it is....

Brett & Tacie have been together for about 7 years now, so I feel like I have gotten to know them as a couple quite well. We have been on a few family vacations and of course there have been all the holidays and birthdays that bring our family together each year. And having BEEN to all of those functions I really have to hand it to Brett, this is not an easy family to jump into (as I am sure Jason can tell you), and Brett has really come out of his shell over the years. I remember he was a little shy at first, but now he can really hold his own with this family, which is no easy task (I even have difficulties at times). But most importantly I have seen how happy he has made my sister, and how much they enjoy each other’s company, and is there really anything more that I could ask for in a brother-in-law.

Tacie & Brett I am so happy for you both that your day has finally come and your marriage is just beginning. And so with that I would like to close with the quote:

“Married love is love woven into a pattern of living. It has in it the elements of understanding and of the passionate kindness of husband and wife toward each other. It is rich in the many sided joys of life because each is more concerned with giving joy than with grasping it for himself. And joys are most truly experienced when they are most fully shared.”

To the Bride & Groom – May you have many years of sharing joy!

So here are some of my favorite pictures from that magical day!!
